Rigger Foreman-II: Oil & Gas Construction Leadership Role in Riyadh

This is a full-time, on-site position based in the Al-Naseem neighborhood of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Detailed Job Responsibilities

As a Rigger Foreman-II at Hamdan Global, you will be entrusted with a leadership position that is pivotal to the safety, efficiency, and success of our construction and maintenance projects. Your core duties will encompass a wide range of technical and supervisory tasks.

Rigging Operations & Technical Leadership

  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee all complex rigging and heavy lifting operations on the construction site, ensuring they are executed flawlessly and in accordance with project specifications.
  • Develop comprehensive and methodical lift plans, including the selection of appropriate rigging equipment, gear, and techniques for each specific task, from standard lifts to critical lifts.
  • Direct the assembly and disassembly of heavy equipment, structural components, and modules using cranes, hoists, pulleys, and other rigging apparatus.
  • Calculate load weights, centers of gravity, and dynamic factors to ensure the safe and balanced movement of materials and equipment.
  • Conduct pre-use and periodic inspections of all slings, shackles, hooks, hoists, blocks, and other rigging hardware to ensure they meet all safety standards and are fit for purpose.

Team Management & Supervision

  • Lead, manage, and mentor a team of riggers and junior crew members, providing clear direction, task assignments, and on-the-job training to enhance their skills and promote a culture of safety.
  • Foster a collaborative and safety-first work environment, ensuring all team members understand their roles and responsibilities for each lift operation.
  • Manage work schedules, oversee timekeeping, and ensure adequate crew coverage for all planned rigging activities.

Safety & Compliance Enforcement

  • Serve as the primary on-site authority for enforcing strict adherence to all company safety policies, industry best practices, and local regulatory requirements pertaining to rigging and lifting operations.
  • Conduct thorough Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Toolbox Talks before commencing any rigging task, identifying potential hazards and implementing effective control measures.
  • Investigate any incidents, near-misses, or safety violations related to rigging activities and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of equipment inspections, crew certifications, lift plans, and safety meetings.

Coordination & Communication

  • Liaise and coordinate closely with project managers, construction managers, crane operators, and other trade foremen to ensure seamless integration of rigging activities into the overall project schedule.
  • Report daily progress, challenges, and resource requirements to the Construction Manager.
  • Manage the inventory of rigging supplies and coordinate with the logistics department for the timely procurement of equipment and materials.

Candidate Requirements & Qualifications

To be considered for this senior Rigger Foreman-II role within our construction department, candidates must meet the following essential criteria:

Education & Formal Certification

  • A Graduation degree or a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a directly related field is required.
  • Possession of advanced, recognized certifications in rigging and lifting (e.g., Certified Rigger Level II or equivalent, Certified Lift Planner) is mandatory.
  • Valid safety training certificates such as OSHA, NEBOSH, or equivalent are highly desirable.

Professional Experience

  • A minimum of 5-10 years of progressive, hands-on experience in rigging/construction, with a significant portion of that experience gained in a supervisory or foreman capacity.
  • Demonstrable and extensive experience working on large-scale Oil & Gas projects, including refineries, petrochemical plants, pipelines, or offshore facilities is essential.
  • Proven track record of successfully planning and executing critical lifts and managing complex rigging operations in a live plant environment.

Essential Skills & Competencies

  • Expert Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of rigging principles, load dynamics, crane signaling, and all types of rigging equipment and hitches.
  • Leadership & People Management: Strong ability to lead, motivate, and discipline a diverse team of skilled riggers to achieve project goals safely
