Key Responsibilities and Duties

As a Rigger with our construction team, your primary duty is to ensure all heavy loads are moved safely and securely. Your daily tasks will be diverse and critical to site operations.

• Assemble and disassemble rigging equipment, including slings, shackles, hooks, and turnbuckles, according to load requirements and manufacturer specifications.
• Inspect all rigging gear, ropes, hoists, and lifting equipment before use to ensure they are in optimal working condition and free from defects.
• Attach loads to rigging to provide support or prepare them for moving, using hand and signal communication to direct crane and hoist operators.
• Select appropriate gear, such as cables, pulleys, and winches, according to load weight and size, ensuring a secure and balanced lift every time.
• Control the movement of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces, using skilled manipulation and precise signaling.
• Work in close coordination with crane operators, construction laborers, and site foremen to plan and execute complex lifts.
• Secure loads to the structure of the crane or other lifting apparatus using various knots and tying techniques.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, storing all rigging tools and equipment properly after use.
• Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, OSHA standards, and local UAE regulations to prevent accidents and injuries on the construction site.
• Report any safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or near-miss incidents to the site supervisor immediately.

Rigger Job Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this rigger position near Ghantoot, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Education & Certification

• A valid ITI certification in a relevant trade (e.g., Diesel Mechanic, Fitter, Welder) is mandatory.
• Additional certification in rigging from an accredited institution is a significant advantage.
• A valid UAE driving license (preferable) and relevant safety training certificates (e.g., IOSH, OSHA).

Experience & Skills

• A minimum of 1-3 years of hands-on rigging experience, specifically within the construction or heavy industrial sector.
• Demonstrable knowledge of rigging techniques, load dynamics, and weight calculation.
• Proficiency in using various types of rigging equipment and understanding their load limits.
• Ability to interpret hand and radio signals to communicate effectively with crane operators.
• Strong physical fitness and the ability to work at heights or in adverse weather conditions.
• Excellent spatial awareness and problem-solving skills to navigate complex lifts.
