Rigging Supervisor - Oil & Gas Construction

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Rigging Supervisor to join our dynamic team in the Oil & Gas industry in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will oversee rigging operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards. Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise all rigging activities on-site for Oil & Gas construction projects
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during lifting and rigging operations
• Inspect and approve all rigging equipment before use, maintaining proper documentation
• Develop lift plans and supervise critical lifts involving heavy equipment and structures
• Train and mentor rigging crews on proper techniques and safety procedures
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and other supervisors to ensure smooth operations
• Monitor weather conditions and environmental factors that may affect rigging operations
• Maintain accurate records of all rigging operations, equipment inspections, and personnel certifications
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to rigging and lifting operations
• Conduct regular safety meetings and toolbox talks with rigging teams

Requirements & Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

• 5-10 years of progressive experience in rigging operations within the Oil & Gas industry
• Diploma or Graduation in relevant engineering or technical field
• Extensive knowledge of rigging techniques, equipment, and safety standards
• Valid rigging certification from recognized authorities
• Proven experience supervising rigging teams on large-scale construction projects
• Thorough understanding of load calculations and lift planning
• Familiarity with international standards (OSHA, LOLER, etc.)

Preferred Skills:

• Certification in advanced rigging or heavy lift operations
• Experience in offshore rigging operations
• Knowledge of crane operations and signaling
• First Aid and H2S certification
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)

Work Environment

This position is based in Abu Dhabi City and involves working at various construction sites within the emirate. The role requires:

• Working in outdoor environments with exposure to varying weather conditions
• Standard 48-hour work week with potential overtime requirements
• Wearing appropriate PPE at all times on-site
• Adherence to strict safety protocols and procedures
• Potential for rotational shifts based on project requirements
