Risk Analyst: Information Technology (Full-Time)

Job Overview & Opportunity

We are seeking a meticulous and intellectually curious individual to join our Information Technology department as an entry-level Risk Analyst. This full-time position represents a fantastic opportunity for a recent doctoral graduate to apply advanced research and analytical skills to real-world risk management challenges within a dynamic manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be instrumental in identifying, assessing, and mitigating IT-related risks that could impact our operational integrity, data security, and manufacturing output. You will work alongside seasoned professionals to safeguard our digital infrastructure and contribute to the resilience of our entire manufacturing lifecycle, from supply chain logistics to production and distribution.

Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties

As a Risk Analyst at our firm, your day-to-day activities will be diverse and impactful. You will be an integral part of our risk governance framework, ensuring our IT systems support manufacturing excellence without unnecessary exposure.

  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments of existing and proposed IT systems, applications, and network architectures to identify potential vulnerabilities and threats specific to a manufacturing operational technology (OT) environment.
  • Develop, maintain, and update detailed risk registers, documenting identified risks, their probability, potential impact, and recommended mitigation strategies.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of robust internal controls and security protocols to protect sensitive intellectual property, proprietary manufacturing processes, and critical operational data.
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative data analysis to model potential risk scenarios and their financial or operational impact on manufacturing throughput and product quality.
  • Monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) and prepare regular reports and dashboards for IT and senior management, highlighting trends, emerging threats, and the status of risk mitigation efforts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including cybersecurity, network engineering, and production floor management, to ensure a unified approach to risk management.
  • Stay abreast of the latest industry trends, regulatory requirements, and technological advancements in both risk management and manufacturing IT to ensure our practices remain cutting-edge.
  • Support incident response activities, contributing to root cause analysis and helping to develop strategies to prevent recurrence of IT-related operational disruptions.
  • Assist with compliance audits and ensure that all IT risk management activities adhere to relevant industry standards and internal policies.

Requirements & Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with a strong academic foundation and a keen analytical mind, ready to transition into a corporate risk management role.

Education & Experience

  • A recently awarded Doctorate degree in a relevant field such as Information Systems, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Business Administration, or a closely related quantitative discipline.
  • This is an entry-level position requiring 0-1 year of professional post-doctoral experience. Relevant academic research, internships, or project work will be highly regarded.

Essential Skills & Competencies

  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to process complex information and identify key insights.
  • Exceptional research capabilities, honed through doctoral-level academic work.
  • High proficiency in data analysis and statistical modeling software (e.g., R, Python, SAS, SQL) and a strong grasp of data visualization principles.
  • Foundational understanding of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity principles, and network security.
  • Familiarity with risk management frameworks (e.g., ISO 31000, NIST RMF, COSO) is a significant advantage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical risks into clear, actionable business language for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a methodical, process-oriented approach to work.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism when handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently on deep-dive analysis and collaboratively within a team environment.

What We Offer

We are committed to investing in our employees and providing a supportive environment where you can launch and grow your career.

  • A competitive compensation package with a salary range of 1-2 LPA, commensurate with academic credentials.
  • A structured onboarding and mentorship program designed to accelerate your learning and integration into the corporate world.

  • Exposure to a complex and fascinating intersection of Information Technology and modern manufacturing.
  • A collaborative and inclusive company culture that values innovation, critical thinking, and continuous improvement.
