Safety Engineer Job in Riyadh: Construction Industry | 10-15 LPA

Key Responsibilities & Duties

As a vital member of our HSE department, the Safety Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all aspects of the project's safety program. Your primary goal will be to ensure a zero-accident environment by proactively identifying hazards and enforcing strict regulatory compliance.

Daily Safety Operations & Compliance

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures in strict accordance with Saudi Arabian regulations and international best practices.
• Conduct regular and thorough site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, unsafe practices, and non-compliance issues.
• Perform rigorous risk assessments and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for all project activities, recommending and implementing effective corrective actions.
• Ensure all construction equipment, machinery, and tools meet safety standards and are properly maintained.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of safety inspections, incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and prepare reports for management.

Training & Safety Culture Development

• Design and deliver engaging safety induction programs for new employees and ongoing training for all staff, including toolbox talks and specialized safety workshops.
• Promote a strong culture of safety awareness across all levels of the project, from management to frontline workers.
• Investigate all accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and develop strategies to prevent recurrence.
• Lead emergency response planning and conduct regular drills to ensure preparedness for any situation.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all safety-related queries and concerns from project staff and contractors.

Qualifications & Requirements

To be successful in this Safety Engineer role, candidates must meet the following criteria and possess a proven track record in construction safety management.

Education & Certifications

• A Graduation or Diploma in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Industrial), Occupational Health & Safety, or a directly related field is mandatory.
• Professional certifications such as NEBOSH (International General Certificate or Construction Certificate), IOSH, or OSHA are highly preferred and will be given significant weight.
• Certification in first aid and fire safety is a strong advantage.

Experience & Skills

• A minimum of 5-10 years of proven experience as a Safety Engineer, specifically within the construction industry.
• In-depth knowledge of construction safety standards, hazard recognition, and risk assessment methodologies.
• Exceptional safety awareness and a meticulous eye for detail.
• Strong understanding of HSE management systems and their implementation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train, influence, and lead a diverse workforce.
• Proficiency in preparing detailed reports and maintaining safety documentation.
• Experience working on large-scale construction projects, particularly in the Middle East (Saudi Arabia experience is a major plus).
