This pivotal role requires a dedicated professional with 5-10 years of hands-on experience in construction health and safety management. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a zero-accident work environment by implementing rigorous safety standards, conducting comprehensive site inspections, and leading a culture of safety excellence among all site personnel. This is a full-time, on-site position offering a competitive salary package of 30+ LPA (Lakhs Per Annum) for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
As our Safety Foreman, you will be the cornerstone of our project's Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) department. Your primary mission will be to prevent accidents, injuries, and work-related illnesses through proactive planning and continuous vigilance.
- Develop, implement, and enforce comprehensive site-specific safety plans and emergency response procedures in strict compliance with Saudi Arabian regulations and international best practices.
- Conduct daily safety inspections and audits of the construction site, equipment, and work practices to identify and mitigate potential hazards before they result in incidents.
- Lead mandatory daily toolbox talks and weekly safety meetings for all workers, subcontractors, and site visitors, ensuring clear understanding of safety expectations.
- Investigate all accidents, near-misses, and safety violations to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain accurate and detailed safety documentation, including inspection reports, incident logs, training records, and permits-to-work.
- Provide hands-on safety training and mentoring to construction crews on topics such as fall protection, scaffolding safety, crane operations, hot work permits, and hazardous material handling.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other foremen to integrate safety measures into all phases of construction planning and execution.
- Ensure all personal protective equipment (PPE) is available, properly used, and maintained by every individual on site.
- Monitor environmental conditions and implement necessary controls for dust, noise, and other potential pollutants.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all safety-related communications with client representatives and regulatory authorities.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements
To be considered for this senior Safety Foreman role, candidates must demonstrate a proven track record of effective safety leadership within large-scale construction projects.
Education and Certification
- Minimum of a Graduation or Diploma in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
- Mandatory certification in NEBOSH (International General Certificate or equivalent) is required.
- Additional certifications in OSHA, IOSH, or other recognized international safety standards are highly preferred.
- First Aid, CPR, and firefighting certification is essential.
Professional Experience
- 5-10 years of progressive experience as a Safety Officer, Safety Supervisor, or Safety Foreman within the construction industry.
- Demonstrable experience working on large-scale building or infrastructure projects in the Middle East, particularly in Saudi Arabia.
- In-depth, practical knowledge of construction methods, heavy equipment, and high-risk activities like excavation, piling, and structural works.
- Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings and plans from a safety perspective.
Essential Skills and Competencies
- Expert knowledge of safety protocols at construction sites and international safety management systems.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage a diverse, multicultural workforce.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess risks and develop effective control measures.
- Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of Arabic or Hindi is a significant advantage.
