Safety Officer Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a diligent and proactive Safety Officer to join our Operations department at ABU DHABI OIL & GAS COMPANY. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with safety regulations, promote a culture of workplace safety, and implement best practices to minimize risks in our manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards in the workplace.
• Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local and international regulations.
• Train employees on safety awareness, emergency response, and proper use of protective equipment.
• Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and preventive measures.
• Maintain accurate records of safety-related incidents, inspections, and training sessions.
• Coordinate with management to ensure all safety protocols are followed and updated as needed.
• Monitor and enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by employees.
• Stay updated with the latest industry safety standards and regulatory changes.
• Conduct risk assessments and recommend corrective actions for identified risks.
• Assist in emergency preparedness drills and response planning.

Qualifications & Skills

Education:

• Graduation or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

• 0-1 year of experience in a safety-related role, preferably in the manufacturing or oil & gas industry.
• Fresh graduates with relevant coursework or certifications in workplace safety are encouraged to apply.

Required Skills:

• Strong understanding of safety awareness principles and best practices.
• Knowledge of local and international safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH).
• Ability to conduct safety training sessions and risk assessments.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
