Safety Officer – Food & Beverage Industry

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Safety Officer to join our Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) team in the Food & Beverage industry. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of hands-on experience in safety management, ensuring compliance with local and international safety regulations. This role is critical in maintaining a safe workplace, mitigating risks, and fostering a culture of safety awareness.

Key Responsibilities

The Safety Officer will be responsible for implementing and overseeing safety protocols to ensure a hazard-free workplace. Duties include:

• Develop and enforce safety policies in compliance with local and international regulations.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and safety inspections in the workplace.
• Identify potential hazards in the Food & Beverage production process and recommend corrective actions.
• Organize and lead safety training sessions for employees to enhance safety awareness.
• Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, inspections, and corrective measures.
• Investigate workplace accidents, prepare reports, and suggest preventive measures.
• Ensure compliance with HSE standards, including fire safety, chemical handling, and equipment safety.
• Coordinate with management to implement emergency response plans.
• Monitor the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by employees.
• Stay updated with the latest safety regulations and industry best practices.

Qualifications & Skills

To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: Graduation or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Experience: 5-10 years of proven experience as a Safety Officer, preferably in the Food & Beverage industry.
• Certifications: Certifications in NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent are highly desirable.

• Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and HSE compliance.
  • Excellent safety awareness and the ability to identify potential hazards.
  • Experience conducting safety audits and risk assessments.
  • Proficiency in developing safety training programs.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
