About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Safety Officer for an Onshore Project in the Oil & Gas industry. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) regulations, implement safety protocols, and foster a culture of workplace safety. This role is based in Doha, Qatar, and requires 1-3 years of experience in a similar position.

Key Responsibilities

The Safety Officer will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of workplace safety and regulatory compliance. Duties include:

• Conducting regular safety inspections and risk assessments on the project site.
• Developing and implementing HSE policies and procedures.
• Ensuring compliance with local and international safety regulations in the Oil & Gas sector.
• Investigating workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and providing detailed reports.
• Organizing safety training programs for employees and contractors.
• Maintaining accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training sessions.
• Collaborating with project managers and engineers to integrate safety measures into daily operations.
• Providing guidance on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage and ensuring its proper implementation.
• Conducting emergency response drills and ensuring preparedness for potential hazards.
• Promoting a zero-accident culture through proactive safety initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess the following:

Essential Skills

• Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and industry best practices in the Oil & Gas sector.
• Proficiency in conducting risk assessments and safety audits.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for training and reporting.
• Ability to identify hazards and implement corrective actions promptly.
• Familiarity with PPE standards and emergency response procedures.

Educational & Professional Requirements

• Graduation or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience as a Safety Officer in onshore projects, preferably in Oil & Gas.
• Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or OSHA are a plus.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-risk environment.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
