About the Role
We are seeking skilled Sand Blasters to join our Oil & Gas Construction team in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in abrasive blasting, surface preparation, and protective coating applications in industrial environments. This role demands precision, expertise in handling blasting equipment, and adherence to strict safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform abrasive blasting to clean, roughen, or shape surfaces using sand, steel grit, or other materials.
- Ensure proper surface preparation before applying protective coatings.
- Operate and maintain blasting equipment, including compressors, nozzles, and hoses.
- Follow safety guidelines to prevent exposure to hazardous materials.
- Inspect surfaces post-blasting for quality and compliance with project specifications.
- Collaborate with coating teams to ensure seamless workflow.
- Document work progress and report any equipment malfunctions.
- Adhere to environmental regulations regarding waste disposal and containment.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5-10 years of hands-on experience in sand blasting within the Oil & Gas sector.
- Proficiency in operating blasting machinery, including pot blasters and suction systems.
- Knowledge of surface preparation standards (e.g., NACE, SSPC).
- Ability to read technical drawings and project specifications.
- Strong understanding of workplace safety (OSHA, COSHH) and PPE usage.
- Diploma or Graduation in a relevant field (preferred).
- Physical stamina to work in confined spaces and extreme weather conditions.
