Key Responsibilities and Duties
As a Scaffolder with our organization, you will be entrusted with critical tasks that ensure the safety and efficiency of maintenance operations at our client sites. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Erecting and dismantling various types of scaffolding structures including tube and fitting, system scaffolds, and mobile access towers according to engineering specifications and safety standards
- Interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and construction plans to determine appropriate scaffolding requirements for each project
- Conducting thorough inspections of scaffolding materials, equipment, and structures before, during, and after use to identify any defects or potential hazards
- Implementing all necessary safety measures including proper tagging systems (red/green tags) to indicate scaffold status and ensure worksite safety compliance
- Collaborating closely with construction supervisors, engineers, and other tradespeople to coordinate scaffolding activities with overall project timelines
- Ensuring proper storage, maintenance, and inventory management of all scaffolding equipment and materials
- Adhering strictly to all height safety protocols, fall protection systems, and occupational health regulations specific to the Oil & Gas industry
- Mentoring and providing guidance to junior scaffolders and apprentices as required
- Maintaining accurate documentation including inspection reports, work progress updates, and equipment logs
- Responding promptly to changing requirements and adapting scaffolding solutions to meet evolving project needs

Qualifications and Requirements

Essential Qualifications
- ITI certification in relevant trade (Industrial Training Institute)
- Minimum 5-10 years of hands-on scaffolding experience, preferably within the Oil & Gas, petrochemical, or heavy industrial sectors
- Valid scaffolding certification from a recognized accrediting body
- Comprehensive knowledge of scaffolding techniques, materials, and equipment
Required Skills and Competencies
- Proficiency in erecting, altering, and dismantling all major types of scaffolding systems
- Thorough understanding of occupational health and safety regulations pertaining to scaffolding operations
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering plans accurately
