Scaffolding Superintendent – Oil & Gas Construction

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Scaffolding Superintendent to oversee scaffold erection and maintenance for our Oil & Gas Construction projects in Muscat, Oman. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in scaffolding operations, ensuring compliance with safety standards and project timelines. This role is critical to maintaining structural integrity and worker safety on-site.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise scaffold erection, dismantling, and inspection in compliance with industry regulations.
• Ensure all scaffolding structures meet safety standards and project specifications.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to align scaffolding needs.
• Train and mentor junior scaffolding personnel on best practices and safety protocols.
• Inspect materials and equipment for defects or wear before use.
• Maintain accurate records of scaffolding inspections, incidents, and maintenance.
• Collaborate with HSE teams to enforce workplace safety policies.
• Troubleshoot scaffolding-related issues promptly to minimize project delays.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Essential Skills:

• Proficiency in scaffold erection and dismantling techniques.
• In-depth knowledge of scaffolding materials, tools, and industry standards.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and schematics.
• Familiarity with OSHA, ANSI, or other relevant safety regulations.

Education & Experience:

• Graduation or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 5-10 years of hands-on experience in scaffolding within the Oil & Gas Construction industry.
• Certification in scaffolding or safety management is a plus.

Work Environment

This is an on-site position located in Al ‘Amarat, Muscat, Oman. The role requires physical stamina, as it involves working outdoors in varying weather conditions and lifting heavy materials. Safety gear and PPE will be provided.
