Key Responsibilities & Duties

The Semi Skilled Compressor Turbine Technician will be responsible for a range of technical tasks to ensure the optimal performance of turbomachinery. Key duties include:

• Perform basic turbine maintenance activities, including disassembly, inspection, cleaning, and reassembly of turbine and compressor components.
• Assist senior technicians and engineers in troubleshooting mechanical issues and performing root cause analysis on equipment failures.
• Conduct routine equipment inspections and monitoring, checking for vibrations, leaks, temperatures, and other performance parameters.
• Execute preventive maintenance schedules as per defined checklists and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for rotating equipment.
• Support major overhauls and shutdown activities, ensuring all tasks are completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.
• Handle tools and equipment responsibly, ensuring proper usage, maintenance, and calibration.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, schematics, and P&ID diagrams to guide maintenance work.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, work orders, and equipment history logs.
• Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and protocols to maintain a zero-incident work environment.
• Collaborate effectively with the operations team to coordinate maintenance windows and minimize production disruptions.

Qualifications & Requirements

To be successful in this Comp-Turb Technician role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Education & Certification

• ITI (Industrial Training Institute) certification in Mechanical Engineering or a related trade is mandatory.
• Additional certifications in turbine or compressor maintenance from recognized institutes will be highly regarded.
• Valid safety training certificates (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH, or equivalent) are a strong advantage.

Experience & Skills

• A minimum of 5-10 years of practical, hands-on experience as a Semi Skilled Technician, specifically with gas turbines and compressors.
• Proven experience in the oil and gas or petrochemical industry is essential.
• Solid understanding of rotating equipment principles, maintenance techniques, and alignment procedures.
