Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Planning Engineer - Mechanical with 5-10 years of experience in the Oil & Gas Construction industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining project schedules, ensuring timely execution of mechanical engineering projects, and optimizing resource allocation. This role is based in Muscat, Oman and offers a competitive salary range of 21-28 LPA.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules for mechanical engineering projects in the Oil & Gas sector.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and construction, to ensure alignment with project timelines.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential delays, and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
- Prepare and present progress reports, schedule updates, and critical path analyses to senior management and stakeholders.
- Optimize resource allocation, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to ensure project efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans to address project uncertainties.
- Collaborate with contractors and vendors to align deliverables with project milestones.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Essential Skills:
- Strong expertise in project planning and scheduling for mechanical engineering projects.
- Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent.
- In-depth knowledge of Oil & Gas Construction processes and best practices.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to forecast project timelines and identify bottlenecks.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 5-10 years of experience as a Planning Engineer in the Oil & Gas Construction industry.
- Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PMI-SP) is a plus.
