Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Plant (PMV) Inspector, you will be responsible for overseeing the inspection, maintenance, and compliance of heavy plant machinery and vehicles in the oil & gas sector. Your duties will include:
- Conducting detailed inspections of Plant Machinery and Vehicles (PMV) to ensure operational efficiency and safety compliance.
- Identifying faults, wear and tear, or potential hazards in equipment and recommending corrective actions.
- Ensuring adherence to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Preparing and submitting inspection reports, including findings, recommendations, and compliance status.
- Coordinating with maintenance teams to schedule repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Monitoring the performance of PMV equipment and ensuring documentation is up to date.
- Training and guiding junior inspectors on best practices and safety protocols.
- Liaising with suppliers, contractors, and clients to ensure quality and compliance in equipment procurement and usage.
Qualifications & Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should meet the following criteria:
Education & Certifications
- Graduation or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification in Plant Machinery Inspection or equivalent (e.g., API, NACE, or ASNT) is preferred.
Experience
- 5-10 years of hands-on experience in inspecting heavy plant machinery and vehicles (PMV), preferably in the Oil & Gas Construction sector.
- Proven track record in equipment compliance, safety audits, and maintenance coordination.
Skills & Competencies
- In-depth knowledge of PMV inspection techniques and industry standards.
- Strong analytical skills to identify defects and propose solutions.
- Proficiency in using inspection tools and software.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced construction environment.
Work Environment
This role is based on-site in Doha, Qatar, with occasional travel to project locations. The work involves exposure to outdoor construction sites, requiring adherence to strict safety protocols and PPE usage.
