SMAW Welder – 2G / 3G / 4G

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled SMAW Welder (2G/3G/4G) to join our Welding & Fabrication team in the Oil & Gas Construction industry. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of hands-on experience in shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) and must be proficient in various welding positions (2G, 3G, and 4G). This position is based in Al Murabba, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and requires an ITI certification in welding.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality SMAW welding in 2G, 3G, and 4G positions according to project specifications.
• Interpret blueprints, diagrams, and welding symbols to ensure precise fabrication.
• Inspect welded joints for structural soundness and compliance with industry standards.
• Operate and maintain welding equipment, including electrodes, power sources, and safety gear.
• Collaborate with engineers and fabricators to optimize welding techniques and materials.
• Adhere to strict safety protocols to prevent workplace hazards and ensure OSHA compliance.
• Conduct pre-weld and post-weld cleaning, grinding, and finishing as required.
• Document welding processes, materials used, and inspection results.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Certification

• ITI certification in Welding or a related field.
• Certification in SMAW welding (2G, 3G, 4G) preferred.

Experience

• 3-5 years of professional welding experience, preferably in the Oil & Gas Construction sector.
• Proven expertise in shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) for structural components.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in welding techniques for 2G, 3G, and 4G positions.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding symbols.
• Strong attention to detail and quality assurance.
• Knowledge of welding safety standards and PPE usage.
• Physical stamina to work in demanding industrial environments.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time, on-site role in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The work environment may include:

• Exposure to high temperatures, noise, and hazardous materials (with proper safety measures in place).
• Extended periods of standing, bending, and lifting heavy materials.
• Shift-based schedules, including overtime as needed.
