Job Responsibilities & Daily Duties

As a Spray Painter specializing in airless systems for automobiles, you will be at the heart of our production process, ensuring the highest quality finishes on our products. Your primary focus will be on achieving flawless paint application through meticulous preparation and expert technique.

Core Spray Painting Tasks

• Perform thorough surface preparation on automobile parts, including sanding, cleaning, and degreasing to ensure optimal adhesion.
• Operate and maintain airless spray equipment to apply primers, basecoats, and clear coats efficiently and consistently.
• Mix paints and coatings to exact manufacturer specifications, matching colors and achieving desired viscosity for airless application.
• Mask and protect areas not requiring paint, ensuring a clean and professional finish without overspray.
• Inspect finished products for defects, runs, sags, or imperfections, performing touch-ups as necessary to meet quality standards.

Production & Quality Assurance

• Work collaboratively within the production line to meet daily targets and deadlines without compromising on quality.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of PPE, proper ventilation, and safe handling of chemicals and materials.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including regular cleaning of spray booths and equipment.
• Follow detailed work orders and specifications to ensure each product meets customer and company standards.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance painting techniques and efficiency.

Job Requirements & Qualifications

To be successful in this spray painter role, candidates must possess a combination of formal education, practical skills, and relevant experience in the automotive painting sector.

Essential Skills & Experience

• 1-3 years of professional experience as a Spray Painter, specifically with airless spray systems in an automobile manufacturing or repair setting.
• Proven expertise in surface preparation & spray painting techniques, including masking, sanding, and finishing.
• Ability to mix and match paints accurately, with a keen eye for color and detail.
• Strong understanding of different paint types (e.g., water-based, solvent-based) and their application methods.
• Knowledge of safety procedures related to paint fumes, flammable materials, and operating high-pressure equipment.

Education & Certification

• ITI certification in Painting, Automobile Engineering, or a closely related field is required.
• Additional certifications in HVLP or airless spray painting techniques are a significant advantage.
• Vocational training from a recognized institute focusing on automotive refinishing.
