Senior Electrician (Cranes) – Full-Time Job in Kuwait City

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrician (Cranes) to join our dynamic Maintenance team in Kuwait City, Kuwait. This full-time role requires expertise in crane electrical systems, troubleshooting, and maintenance to ensure safe and efficient operations in our construction projects.

As a Senior Electrician, you will play a crucial role in inspecting, repairing, and maintaining electrical components of overhead cranes, gantry cranes, and other heavy lifting equipment. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical systems in various types of cranes (overhead, gantry, jib, etc.).
• Perform routine inspections of crane electrical components, wiring, and control systems.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards (OSHA, ANSI, or equivalent).
• Troubleshoot electrical faults, motor failures, and control system malfunctions.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Collaborate with mechanical technicians to ensure seamless crane operations.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
• Train junior electricians and maintenance staff on crane electrical safety protocols.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and implement corrective actions promptly.
• Source and recommend quality electrical components for crane systems.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education & Certification

• Diploma or Graduation in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Electronics, or a related field.
• Certification in Crane Electrical Systems or Heavy Equipment Maintenance (preferred).
• Valid electrician license or trade certification.

Experience

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in crane electrical maintenance (construction or industrial setting).
• Proficiency in working with AC/DC motors, VFDs, PLCs, and control panels.
• Demonstrated ability to operate cranes safely and troubleshoot electrical issues.
• Familiarity with international safety standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO).

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of electrical circuits, wiring, and load calculations.
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs for crane systems.
• Ability to use multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic tools.
• Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems (advantageous).

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This role involves working in a construction site or industrial facility with exposure to heights, noise, and varying weather conditions. Candidates must be able to:

• Climb ladders and work on elevated platforms (e.g., crane runways).
• Lift and carry electrical components weighing up to 25 kg.
• Stand or kneel for extended periods during repairs.
• Adhere to strict safety protocols, including PPE requirements.
