About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Mechanic (Cranes) to join our construction maintenance team in Al-Faiha’, Kuwait. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe operation, maintenance, and repair of cranes and other heavy equipment, adhering to industry standards and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Crane Maintenance & Repair

• Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance on cranes.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in crane systems.
• Repair or replace defective parts and components.
• Ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications and safety regulations.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair work.

2. Safe Crane Operation & Testing

• Conduct load testing and operational checks before and after maintenance.
• Ensure cranes operate within safe working load limits.
• Identify potential hazards and take corrective actions.
• Follow workplace safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE.

3. Team Coordination

• Work closely with crane operators to troubleshoot operational issues.
• Provide technical guidance to junior mechanics and apprentices.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure equipment availability.

4. Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain maintenance logs, inspection reports, and service records.
• Ensure compliance with local and international safety regulations.
• Report any incidents or equipment malfunctions promptly.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Essential Skills:

• Proven experience in safe crane operation and maintenance (3-5 years).
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems in cranes.
• Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
• Familiarity with OSHA or equivalent safety standards.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Education & Certifications:

• Diploma or Graduation in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Relevant certifications in crane maintenance/operation (preferred).
• Valid driver’s license (if applicable).

Soft Skills:

• Attention to detail and strong work ethic.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Good communication skills.
• Physical stamina to work in varying weather conditions.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This role requires physical work in an industrial construction environment. The candidate must be able to:

• Lift heavy equipment and parts (up to 50 lbs).
• Work at heights or in confined spaces when required.
• Stand, kneel, or crouch for extended periods.
• Work in varying weather conditions (heat, dust, etc.).
