Job Overview & Position Details

As a Standby Man - Fire Watch, you will be responsible for continuous monitoring of hot work activities to prevent fire hazards and ensure immediate response to any emergencies. This full-time role demands unwavering attention to detail, extensive knowledge of safety procedures, and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced construction environment. Key Responsibilities & Duties

The Standby Man - Fire Watch will be entrusted with critical safety operations that require specialized training and meticulous attention to detail. Primary responsibilities include:

Hot Work Safety Monitoring & Prevention

• Continuously monitor all hot work operations including welding, grinding, cutting, and other activities that generate heat, sparks, or flames
• Maintain constant vigilance during and after hot work activities to detect any signs of smoke, fire, or hazardous conditions
• Implement and enforce strict safety protocols in accordance with company policies and international standards
• Conduct thorough area inspections before, during, and after hot work operations to ensure all safety measures are in place
• Verify that all permits and authorizations for hot work are properly completed and validated before operations commence

Emergency Preparedness & Response

• Remain on high alert throughout all monitoring assignments with immediate access to fire extinguishers and other suppression equipment
• Execute emergency response procedures promptly and effectively in case of fire outbreaks or other hazardous incidents
• Maintain complete knowledge of all emergency equipment locations, evacuation routes, and assembly points within the worksite
• Coordinate with emergency response teams and provide critical situation assessments during incidents
• Administer basic first aid and emergency care when necessary while awaiting professional medical assistance

Safety Compliance & Documentation

• Complete detailed daily reports and logs of all monitoring activities, observations, and incidents
• Conduct regular inspections of fire safety equipment to ensure proper functionality and readiness
• Identify and report potential fire hazards, unsafe conditions, or violations of safety protocols
• Participate in safety meetings and training sessions to maintain current knowledge of best practices
• Ensure full compliance with all company, client, and regulatory safety requirements at all times
