Key Responsibilities & Duties
As a Static-Rotary Mechanical Sr. Engineer, you will be at the forefront of our engineering projects, providing critical expertise in the design, analysis, and maintenance of both static and rotary equipment. Your deep understanding of mechanical systems will be essential for ensuring operational excellence and reliability.
- Perform detailed design, specification, and selection of static equipment such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, and boilers, ensuring full compliance with API and ASME standards.
- Execute engineering calculations, including stress analysis, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer, to validate the integrity and performance of mechanical systems.
- Lead the design, analysis, and troubleshooting of rotary equipment, including centrifugal pumps, compressors, turbines, generators, and motors, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
- Develop and review technical documentation, including datasheets, technical bid evaluations, fabrication drawings, and detailed design packages.
- Provide expert technical support to the procurement team during the vendor selection process, ensuring all equipment meets project specifications and quality standards.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including process, civil, and instrumentation engineers, to deliver integrated project solutions.
- Oversee equipment installation, commissioning, and startup activities, providing on-site technical guidance and resolving any mechanical issues that arise.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and implement effective corrective and preventive actions to enhance reliability.
- Ensure all engineering activities adhere to international codes, company standards, and stringent health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within the team.
Qualifications & Requirements
To excel in this senior engineering role, the ideal candidate will possess a robust educational background and a proven track record in the Oil & Gas sector.
Education & Certification
- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E. Mechanical) or an equivalent Diploma from a recognized institution.
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification or Chartered Engineer status is highly desirable.
- Formal training and certifications in relevant API standards (e.g., API 510, API 560, API 610, API 620, API 650) are a significant advantage.
Experience & Technical Skills
- A minimum of 5-10 years of progressive experience in mechanical design engineering within the Oil & Gas, petrochemical, or related heavy industries.
- Demonstrable hands-on experience with the design and analysis of static equipment (pressure vessels, heat exchangers) and rotary equipment (pumps, compressors).
- Expert-level proficiency in applying API, ASME Section VIII, ASME B31.3, and other pertinent international codes and standards.
- Proficiency in using industry-standard engineering software tools such as PV Elite, COMPRESS, Caesar II, ANSYS, or similar finite element analysis (FEA) programs.
- Proven experience in conducting technical bid evaluations, vendor document reviews, and managing equipment suppliers.
- Strong background in providing field engineering support, including troubleshooting operational issues and overseeing repair activities.
