Store Keeper Responsibilities and Duties

As a Store Keeper specializing in inventory management, your primary objective will be to ensure the smooth operation of all warehouse activities while maintaining accurate records of all stock movements. Your key responsibilities will include:

Inventory Control and Management

  • Implement and maintain efficient inventory management systems to track all stock levels, movements, and transactions accurately
  • Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile with digital records to identify and resolve discrepancies
  • Monitor stock levels and initiate purchase requests for replenishment to prevent stock-outs while minimizing excess inventory
  • Develop and implement inventory classification systems to prioritize management efforts based on value, criticality, and usage patterns
  • Coordinate with procurement team to ensure timely availability of materials while optimizing inventory carrying costs

Warehouse Operations

  • Oversee the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods, ensuring all processes comply with established procedures
  • Maintain the warehouse in a clean, organized, and safe condition, adhering to all health and safety regulations
  • Implement proper storage solutions to maximize space utilization while ensuring easy accessibility to items
  • Supervise loading and unloading operations, verifying all incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and damage
  • Manage material handling equipment and ensure proper maintenance schedules are followed

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of all inventory transactions, including receipts, issues, returns, and transfers
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports for management review
  • Generate consumption reports and analysis to support forecasting and planning activities
  • Ensure all documentation complies with company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain updated records of suppliers, lead times, and pricing information

Quality and Compliance

  • Implement and maintain quality control procedures for all incoming materials
  • Ensure proper storage conditions for different types of materials (e.g., temperature-sensitive items)
  • Monitor shelf life of perishable items and implement first-in-first-out (FIFO) system where applicable
  • Coordinate with technical teams to verify specifications of materials received
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety standards and regulations
