Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisor for Data Centre – Mechanical Equipment to oversee the efficient operation and maintenance of mechanical systems in our state-of-the-art data centre facility in Kuwait. This role requires a proactive individual with strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to ensure uninterrupted operations.

As a key member of the Operations team, you will supervise mechanical equipment, troubleshoot issues, and implement preventive maintenance programs to uphold industry standards and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the operation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment in the data centre, including HVAC systems, chillers, pumps, and cooling towers.
• Ensure all mechanical systems are functioning optimally to support data centre uptime and efficiency.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and operational disruptions.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical equipment failures, coordinating repairs as needed.
• Monitor and analyze system performance metrics, making adjustments to improve energy efficiency.
• Lead a team of technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment status, and incident reports.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (electrical, IT, facilities) to ensure seamless data centre operations.
• Assist in the planning and execution of mechanical system upgrades or expansions.
• Prepare reports and documentation for management review.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Education:

• Graduation or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Technology, or a related field.

Experience:

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in mechanical equipment maintenance, preferably in a data centre or critical facility environment.
• Proven leadership experience supervising technical teams.

Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, chillers, cooling towers, and other data centre mechanical infrastructure.
• Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) and automated controls.
• Understanding of energy efficiency practices and sustainability in data centres.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical schematics and technical manuals.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications in HVAC, refrigeration, or data centre operations (e.g., CDCP, CDCS).
• Experience working in wholesale or large-scale industrial facilities.
• Knowledge of Kuwait’s regulatory and environmental standards for mechanical systems.

Working Conditions

• This is an on-site role located in Jibla, Kuwait City. Remote work is not available.
• May require working in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Physical ability to inspect equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
• Exposure to noise, heat, and mechanical hazards; adherence to safety protocols is mandatory.
