Key Responsibilities & Duties

As our Welding QC Supervisor, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in all our welding operations. Your primary focus will be on maintaining integrity and compliance throughout the fabrication process.

Quality Control & Assurance

• Implement and oversee the project quality control system specifically for welding and fabrication activities.
• Conduct thorough inspections of welding work in progress and upon completion to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes (ASME, AWS, API), and standards.
• Review and approve welding procedures (WPS), welder qualifications (WPQR), and other related documentation.
• Manage and document all non-destructive testing (NDT) processes, including radiography (RT), ultrasonic testing (UT), magnetic particle testing (MT), and dye penetrant testing (PT).
• Maintain accurate and detailed quality control records, logs, and reports for all welding activities.

Supervision & Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of QC inspectors and welding technicians.
• Schedule and assign daily inspection tasks, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts and project phases.
• Foster a culture of safety and quality awareness among the welding and fabrication teams.
• Coordinate with production supervisors and engineers to resolve any quality-related issues promptly.

Compliance & Reporting

• Ensure all welding operations adhere to company policies, client requirements, and international quality standards.
• Issue and track corrective action reports (CARs) and non-conformance reports (NCRs) and verify the implementation of corrective measures.
• Liaise with clients, third-party inspectors, and certification authorities during audits and inspections.
• Prepare weekly and monthly quality performance reports for management review.

Requirements & Qualifications

To be successful in this welding QC supervisor role, you must meet the following criteria:

Education & Certification

• ITI certification in Welding Technology, Fabrication, or a closely related field is mandatory.
• Additional certifications in NDT (Level II in UT, RT, MT, PT) and CSWIP or AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) are highly desirable.
• Certification in ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems is a strong advantage.

Experience & Skills

• A minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience in a QC welding supervisory role, specifically within the Oil & Gas or heavy fabrication industry.
• In-depth knowledge of welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW), metallurgy, and heat treatment.
• Expertise in interpreting engineering drawings, isometrics, P&IDs, and welding symbols.
• Strong understanding of international codes and standards including ASME Section IX, ASME B31.3, API 1104, and AWS D1.1.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced project environment.

Physical & Location Requirements

• This position is based in Al Batha, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
• The role requires mobility to access various areas of the fabrication shop and field sites.
• Must be capable of passing a pre-employment medical and drug screening.
