About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled T/A Planning Engineer (Mechanical) to join our dynamic team in Kuwait. This role is crucial for ensuring efficient turnaround planning, scheduling, and execution within the Oil & Gas / Petrochemical industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, project planning, and resource optimization.
As a Turnaround (T/A) Planning Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop detailed work plans, manage shutdown schedules, and ensure seamless project execution. Your expertise will contribute to minimizing downtime and maximizing operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute detailed turnaround (T/A) plans for mechanical systems in Oil & Gas facilities.
- Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to schedule shutdowns efficiently.
- Prepare scope of work, work packages, and resource allocation plans for T/A activities.
- Monitor and control turnaround progress, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to prevent delays.
- Optimize maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and enhance asset reliability.
- Review and update maintenance procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Prepare detailed reports on turnaround performance, including lessons learned and improvement recommendations.
- Liaise with contractors and vendors to ensure smooth execution of T/A activities.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Experience
- 5-10 years of experience in turnaround planning within the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry.
- Proven track record in managing shutdowns, maintenance planning, and project scheduling.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as API, ASME, and ISO.
Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in planning software (Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical documents.
- Knowledge of reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) principles.
Soft Skills
- Strong leadership and team collaboration abilities.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement.
