Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Tandem Mill – Stand & Guide Assembly Fitter/Technician to join our dynamic mechanical engineering team in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and assembly of tandem mill stands and guide systems within our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in industrial machinery maintenance, mechanical fitting, and troubleshooting in a high-volume production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assembly & Installation: Perform precision fitting, alignment, and assembly of tandem mill stands, guide systems, and related mechanical components.
• Maintenance: Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on mill stand equipment to minimize downtime.
• Inspection: Inspect and test mechanical assemblies for defects, wear, and compliance with engineering specifications.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair mechanical failures in a timely manner to reduce production disruptions.
• Tool Management: Operate and maintain specialized tools, including torque wrenches, micrometers, and alignment devices.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment conditions.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to workplace safety protocols and industry regulations.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, operators, and other technicians to optimize mill performance.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Essential Skills:

• Proven experience in mechanical fitting, assembly, and maintenance of industrial machinery.
• Strong knowledge of tandem mill operations, stand alignment, and guide systems.
• Proficiency in reading technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, dial indicators).
• Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Education & Experience:

• Diploma or Graduation in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial setting.
• Prior experience with tandem mills, rolling mills, or similar equipment is preferred.

Work Environment

This position is based in Ghantoot, Abu Dhabi, and requires working in a manufacturing plant with exposure to heavy machinery, noise, and industrial conditions. Candidates must be comfortable working in shifts, overtime, and adhering to strict safety guidelines.
