Key Responsibilities: Tank Construction Engineering
Our Tank Construction Engineers play a pivotal role in the successful execution of oil and gas storage projects. The position demands technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and meticulous attention to detail across all project phases.
Project Planning & Execution
- Develop comprehensive tank construction methodologies and execution plans
- Coordinate with project management teams to establish realistic timelines and resource requirements
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents for constructability
- Manage material procurement, allocation, and utilization for tank construction activities
- Implement risk assessment protocols and mitigation strategies for construction operations
Tank Erection & Structural Activities
- Oversee foundation preparation, base plate installation, and annular ring erection
- Manage shell plate installation, including lifting, alignment, and welding operations
- Supervise roof structure installation (fixed, floating, or dome-type configurations)
- Coordinate nozzle and piping attachment activities in accordance with design specifications
- Direct internal equipment installation including heaters, mixers, and access platforms
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Implement and maintain stringent quality control procedures throughout construction
- Ensure compliance with API 650, API 653, ASME, and other relevant international standards
- Coordinate non-destructive testing (NDT) activities and review inspection reports
- Manage documentation for welding procedures, material traceability, and quality records
- Conduct final inspections and prepare tanks for hydrotesting and commissioning
Safety Leadership
- Enforce strict adherence to HSE protocols and permit-to-work systems
- Conduct regular safety audits and toolbox talks for construction teams
- Implement emergency response procedures and ensure crew preparedness
- Investigate incidents and near-misses, implementing corrective measures
- Promote safety culture and best practices among all site personnel
Qualifications & Experience Requirements

Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field

- Experience working in Middle Eastern oil and gas projects, preferably in UAE
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing multicultural construction teams
Technical Skills & Competencies
- Expert knowledge of tank erection techniques and construction sequencing
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, P&IDs, and isometric drawings
- Strong understanding of welding processes, procedures, and quality requirements
