Ambe International, a prominent leader in the Oil & Gas industry, is seeking highly skilled and experienced Tank Supervisors to join our maintenance department in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This is a full-time, on-site position perfect for professionals with 5-10 years of hands-on supervision experience in tank farm operations, storage terminal management, and bulk liquid handling facilities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of large-scale storage tanks, ensuring all maintenance, inspection, and safety protocols are rigorously followed. This role is critical to our operational integrity and requires a decisive leader with a deep understanding of hydrocarbon storage systems.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
As a Tank Supervisor at our Abu Dhabi City location, your day-to-day tasks will encompass a wide range of operational and leadership duties. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the highest standards of safety, reliability, and performance within the tank farm.
- Provide direct, on-the-ground supervision for all tank farm operations, including loading, unloading, blending, and transfers of petroleum products and chemicals.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of technicians and operators, ensuring strict adherence to all company SOPs and HSE policies.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise routine and turnarounds maintenance activities for fixed roof, floating roof, and pressurized storage tanks.
- Conduct regular inspections of tanks, foundations, roofs, and associated piping for corrosion, leaks, and structural integrity, adhering to API 653 standards.
- Manage all aspects of tank cleaning, degassing, and confined space entry permits, ensuring 100% compliance with safety procedures.
- Oversee inventory management and reconciliation activities to ensure accurate product level measurements and prevent losses.
- Investigate and report any operational incidents, near misses, or non-conformances, implementing effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Liaise with control room operators, maintenance planners, and corrosion engineers to optimize tank scheduling and minimize downtime.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with local UAE regulations and international industry standards.
- Maintain accurate logs, records, and documentation for all maintenance and inspection activities.
Requirements & Qualifications
To be considered for this supervisory role in the dynamic Oil & Gas sector, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Education & Certification
- A minimum of a Graduation or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as API 653 (Aboveground Storage Tank Inspector) or NACE Coating Inspector are highly desirable.
- Valid certifications in H2S Awareness, Confined Space Entry, and Basic Fire Fighting are mandatory.
Experience & Skills
- A proven track record of 5 to 10 years in a tank supervision or similar leadership role within the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Terminal Storage industry.
- Demonstrable expertise in the supervision of large teams and complex maintenance projects.
- In-depth technical knowledge of storage tank design, construction, repair methodologies, and failure mechanisms.
- Strong practical knowledge of integrity management programs, risk-based inspection (RBI), and non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
- Proficiency in using maintenance management systems (CMMS) for work orders and inventory control.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to effectively coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
