Key Responsibilities & Duties
As an HVAC Technician – A-C with our building maintenance department, you will be tasked with a critical role in ensuring the performance and reliability of climate control systems. Your daily operations will directly impact the comfort and safety of building occupants.
HVAC System Maintenance & Repair
- Perform scheduled and preventive maintenance on a variety of HVAC equipment, including chillers, air handling units (AHUs), fan coil units (FCUs), and ventilation systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical faults in HVAC systems, employing advanced diagnostic tools and techniques.
- Execute efficient repairs on components such as compressors, motors, condensers, evaporators, and control systems to minimize downtime.
- Conduct performance tests and system balancing to ensure all HVAC units operate at peak efficiency and within designed specifications.
Installation & Commissioning Support
- Assist in the installation, replacement, and commissioning of new HVAC units and related ductwork for construction and retrofit projects.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to ensure proper installation and adherence to project plans.
- Work closely with foremen and engineers to complete projects on schedule and to the highest quality standards.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure all work is performed in strict compliance with UAE safety regulations, company protocols, and international building codes.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance activities, repairs, parts used, and time spent on each job.
- Provide clear and concise reports on system status, recommended upgrades, and potential issues to the maintenance supervisor.
Emergency Response
- Respond promptly to emergency service calls and system breakdowns, providing effective solutions to restore functionality.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical building maintenance needs near Ghantoot, Abu Dhabi.
Qualifications & Skill Requirements
We are looking for a candidate who is not only technically proficient but also demonstrates a strong work ethic and commitment to quality. The ideal applicant will possess the following qualifications:
Mandatory Requirements
- ITI Certification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Refrigeration and Air Conditioning trade.
- Proven 1 to 3 years of professional experience as an HVAC technician, specifically within the construction or building maintenance industry.
- In-depth, hands-on knowledge of HVAC system principles, including refrigeration cycles, electrical circuits, and air distribution.
- Must be physically capable of performing demanding tasks, including lifting heavy equipment, working at heights, and in confined spaces.
- Valid UAE driving license is a significant advantage.
Technical & Soft Skills
- Proficiency in using HVAC tools, including manifold gauges, vacuum pumps, multimeters, and leak detectors.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a methodical approach to troubleshooting complex system failures.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to completing tasks to the highest standard of workmanship.
- Ability to work effectively both independently with minimal supervision and as a cohesive part of a larger maintenance team.
- Good communication skills to interact with team members, clients, and management.
