Key Responsibilities
The Testing Technician (LT/HT) will be responsible for conducting precise testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical systems, with a focus on Low Tension (LT) and High Tension (HT) motor testing. Duties include:
- Perform LT/HT motor testing to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Analyze test data and generate detailed reports for Quality Control documentation.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults in oil & gas equipment.
- Operate and maintain testing equipment, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and insulation testers.
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians to optimize testing procedures.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols during all testing operations.
- Conduct insulation resistance, continuity, and polarity tests on electrical systems.
- Calibrate testing instruments to maintain accuracy and reliability.
- Participate in root cause analysis for equipment failures.
- Assist in the development of testing protocols for new engineering & construction projects.
Required Skills & Qualifications
To be considered for the Testing Technician (LT/HT) role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Education & Experience
- Doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in LT/HT motor testing.
- Proven experience in the oil & gas or engineering & construction industry.
- Familiarity with international testing standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, ANSI).
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in operating motor testing equipment (e.g., meggers, dynamometers).
- Strong understanding of Low Tension (LT) and High Tension (HT) systems.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals.
- Knowledge of PLCs and automation systems is a plus.
