Key Responsibilities & Duties

As a Training Engineer (Mech & Electric), you will be at the forefront of developing and implementing technical training strategies. Your primary focus will be on enhancing the skills and knowledge of our technical teams to ensure the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency on all oil and gas construction projects.

  • Design, develop, and deliver advanced technical training modules and materials focused on mechanical engineering principles and electrical systems specific to oil and gas construction projects.
  • Conduct thorough training needs assessments to identify skill gaps and develop targeted programs to address them, ensuring alignment with project requirements and company objectives.
  • Manage the entire training lifecycle, from initial curriculum development and scheduling to delivery, evaluation, and continuous improvement of all training activities.
  • Provide hands-on, practical training sessions on-site and in classroom settings, covering topics such as equipment operation, maintenance procedures, safety protocols, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, department heads, and senior management to ensure training programs support operational goals and compliance with industry standards.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics, making data-driven decisions for future improvements.
  • Maintain and update all training documentation, records, and databases, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Stay abreast of the latest industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in mechanical and electrical engineering to keep training content current and relevant.
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the organization.
  • Ensure all training activities adhere to strict health, safety, and environmental (HSE) guidelines, promoting a zero-incident culture on all projects.

Requirements & Qualifications

To be successful in this demanding Training Engineer role, candidates must meet a specific set of educational, experiential, and skill-based criteria. This position requires a blend of deep technical knowledge and exceptional management capabilities.

Education & Certification

  • A minimum of a Graduation/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • Additional certifications in Training & Development, Instructional Design, or related pedagogical fields are highly desirable.
  • Professional engineering certification or licensure is a significant advantage.

Experience

  • A solid 5-10 Years of progressive experience in a similar Training Engineer role, preferably within the Oil & Gas Construction industry or a related heavy industrial sector.
  • Proven hands-on experience with mechanical systems (e.g., pumps, compressors, piping) and electrical systems (e.g., power distribution, instrumentation, control systems).
  • Demonstrable experience in management, including leading training initiatives, managing programs, and overseeing a team or training department.
