Job Description

We are seeking a Wastewater Treatment Plant Performance Monitoring Engineer to join our team in Diriyah, Riyadh. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing, optimizing, and reporting on the performance of wastewater treatment systems in a petrochemical facility. This role ensures compliance with environmental regulations while maximizing operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and evaluate the performance of wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) operations.
• Analyze data trends to optimize treatment processes and reduce operational costs.
• Prepare detailed performance reports for plant management and regulatory authorities.
• Identify inefficiencies and recommend corrective actions to enhance system performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with local and international environmental regulations.
• Conduct root cause analysis for performance deviations and implement preventive measures.
• Assist in the calibration and maintenance of monitoring equipment.
• Support troubleshooting efforts during plant upsets or emergencies.
• Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in wastewater treatment technologies.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Strong expertise in performance analysis and reporting of plant operations.
• Proficiency in data interpretation and statistical tools for process optimization.
• Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes (e.g., biological treatment, membrane filtration, chemical dosing).
• Familiarity with environmental regulations (e.g., Saudi EPA standards).
• Experience in root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Technical Competencies

• Hands-on experience with SCADA systems and process control software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, data visualization tools, and reporting software.
• Understanding of instrumentation and control systems in wastewater treatment plants.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in performance monitoring within petrochemical, oil & gas, or industrial wastewater treatment plants.
• Prior experience in regulatory compliance reporting is a plus.
