Welding Engineer

About the Role

ABU DHABI OIL & GAS COMPANY is seeking a talented and motivated Welding Engineer to join our Engineering team. This full-time position is ideal for recent graduates or entry-level professionals with up to one year of experience in welding or manufacturing. As a Welding Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the structural integrity and quality of welding processes in our oil and gas projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement welding procedures in compliance with industry standards (e.g., AWS, ASME, API).
• Inspect and test welded joints to ensure quality and durability.
• Collaborate with design and production teams to optimize welding techniques.
• Monitor welding equipment performance and recommend maintenance or upgrades.
• Conduct root cause analysis for welding defects and propose corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation for welding processes.
• Train junior staff or technicians on best welding practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of welding techniques (e.g., TIG, MIG, ARC).
• Familiarity with welding standards (AWS, ASME, API).
• Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Education & Certifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Certification in welding inspection (e.g., CSWIP, CWI) is a plus.
• 0-1 year of experience in welding, manufacturing, or oil & gas industries.
