Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Welding Inspector to join our client's team in the Oil & Gas industry in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring welding processes comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and project specifications. This full-time role requires hands-on inspection experience, technical expertise, and a strong commitment to quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct visual and non-destructive testing (NDT) of welds to ensure compliance with API, ASME, and AWS standards.
- Review and interpret welding procedure specifications (WPS), procedure qualification records (PQR), and welder qualification records (WQR).
- Monitor welding operations for adherence to approved procedures and safety protocols.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports, documenting defects, deviations, and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and project managers to resolve welding-related issues.
- Ensure all welding materials and equipment meet project requirements and industry standards.
- Conduct pre-weld and post-weld inspections, including dimensional checks and material verification.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and certifications.
- Assist in audits and quality control reviews to uphold operational excellence.
Qualifications & Skills
Education:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Certification in CSWIP, AWS-CWI, or equivalent is highly preferred.
Experience:
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a Welding Inspector in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry.
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, codes, and standards.
- Familiarity with NDT methods such as UT, RT, MT, PT.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques (SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW).
- Experience with welding metallurgy and defect analysis.
- Proficiency in using inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
Soft Skills:
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work in high-pressure environments.
Work Environment
This is an on-site position based in Diriyah, Riyadh. The role may require:
- Working in outdoor or industrial settings with exposure to varying weather conditions.
- Adherence to strict safety protocols, including PPE requirements.
- Occasional overtime or shift work to meet project deadlines.
