Job Overview
Aman International HR Consultant is seeking an experienced Welding Inspector to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations in the Oil & Gas / Petrochemical sector. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of hands-on experience in welding inspection, quality control, and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform visual and non-destructive inspections of welded components to ensure compliance with ASME, AWS, API, and ISO standards.
- Review welding procedures, specifications, and qualifications (WPS, WPQ, PQR).
- Monitor welding operations to verify adherence to approved procedures.
- Conduct material verification and ensure proper storage/handling of welding consumables.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports with findings and recommendations.
- Collaborate with engineers and contractors to resolve welding-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
- Maintain records of inspections, tests, and corrective actions.
- Liaise with third-party inspection agencies as required.
Requirements
Education & Certifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) from AWS or equivalent certification (CSWIP, IWI).
- Additional NDT certifications (UT, RT, MT, PT) are highly desirable.
Experience & Skills
- 5-10 years of experience as a Welding Inspector in Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, codes, and standards.
- Strong knowledge of welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW).
- Familiarity with PMI (Positive Material Identification) and hardness testing.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work in harsh environments and at heights.
Soft Skills
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
Work Environment
This position is based in Al-Naseem, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and requires on-site presence at project locations. Candidates must be comfortable working in industrial settings with exposure to extreme temperatures and noise levels. The role may involve occasional overtime and travel to remote sites.
