Job Opening: Workshop Supervisor (Oil & Gas Industry)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Workshop Supervisor to oversee operations in our Mechanical Engineering department within the Oil & Gas sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing workshop activities, ensuring safety compliance, and optimizing productivity in our Abu Dhabi facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily workshop operations, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
• Oversee a team of technicians and mechanics, providing guidance and training as needed.
• Coordinate with project managers to schedule and prioritize maintenance and repair tasks.
• Monitor inventory levels of equipment, tools, and spare parts, ensuring timely procurement.
• Implement and enforce workplace safety protocols in line with industry regulations.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and provide solutions for mechanical failures.
• Maintain accurate records of workshop activities, including inspections, repairs, and maintenance logs.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and industry best practices.
• Conduct performance evaluations for workshop staff and recommend improvements.
• Liaise with other departments to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Experience

• 5-10 years of hands-on experience in a supervisory role within a mechanical workshop.
• Proven track record in the Oil & Gas industry preferred.
• Experience with heavy machinery, maintenance protocols, and safety compliance.

Required Skills

• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in reading mechanical schematics and technical documents.
• Knowledge of OSHA or other safety regulations in the Oil & Gas sector.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
